Street Cat Alliance Fundraiser ’23

Cat Fest is happening on the 22nd of July, and I got inspired.

Cat Fest is a fundraiser for the Canberra Street Cat Alliance

I made some lampshades especially, and have some plans for more!

These are made from upcycled plastic waste like bottles and lids made from either LDPE or HDPE, which is the same thing many commercial light shades are made from.

After you trim pieces to size with a pair of scissors it can be applied to the inside of an existing light shade for stealth mode… until you switch on! Or on the outside for visible upcycling flair even when the light is off.

Here it is… with colour options if you don’t like white cats or butterflies.

I’m not sure that Spike approves of that choice though!

This is one full-width design I put together – 60cm to wrap around in a lamp, which is ugh radius of about 14 cm.

They all look better in real life though, or if I didn’t take the pics on an old phone :s.
